2 Day Gorillas Trekking in Bwindi from Kigali Rwanda

Tour Overview:

This two days tour will start and end in Kigali which is a closer drive to Bwindi National park than it is from Kampala, The first day will be for travelling from Kigali to Bwindi via Gatuna Border, then track gorillas on the second day and return to Kigali the same day after Gorilla Trekking. The Bwindi Park is a biodiverse, mountainous area in southwest Uganda. It’s home to world’s remaining mountain gorillas, who feed on roots, leaves and fruits from the park’s many tree and fern species.

Day 1 Drive to Bwindi national park

Our Driver will meet you either at the airport or Your Hotel In Kigali and Transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park, the 4-hour journey to Bwindi Park will includes the border crossing. You will need an East African Visa that is obtainable from the first East African Country that you Visit (Kenya-Rwanda – Uganda are participants in the East African Visa Program). Along the way you shall have spectacular views of the terraces of the Ugandan and Rwandan mountains. This area is called the “Switzerland of Africa”. Arrive late in afternoon, enjoy self walk in nearby villages, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 Mountaing Gorilla Tracking- back to Kigali

This morning you will get up very early and drive to Bwindi national park for the upcoming gorilla trekking. Trekking the Mountain Gorilla is one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The trek will take between 2 and 6 hours, but is well worth the effort. You will be led by an experienced ranger who will tell you interesting facts about flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. stay with Gorillas 1 hour, then back at the lodge, take lunch, check out and transfer back to Kigali.

What to Bring:

You must bring appropriate walking or hiking shoes as trainers are not suitable for the forest terrain. Waterproof clothing, preferably dark in colour as bright colours will attract insects, is necessary since the forest is at high altitude so there is a good chance of rain. Remember to bring high-factor sunscreen and a hat too, most of all don’t forget your yellow fever vaccination card.
